Welcome to Blind Create

Inclusive creative wellbeing sessions for everyone – with or without sight loss, disability or previous artistic experience.

Start your own unique story through art.

Blind Create offers accessible online art sessions that are adapted to each individual, creating enjoyable and meaningful opportunities to explore creativity at your own pace.

More than an art class, Blind Create is a creative wellbeing experience that encourages confidence, participation, self-expression and a sense of achievement.

Why Blind Create?

I have the knowledge, experience and skills to guide anyone in creating artwork, whether you can see, have partial sight or are blind.

But Blind Create is about much more than making a painting. It's about the story you tell through the creative process – from the initial idea to the finished creation.

It's about discovering your creativity, exploring your interests and expressing what makes you unique.

Sessions are adapted around each person's capabilities, interests and preferred pace, creating an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.

Blind Create welcomes:

• Individuals and families

• Older adults and care home residents

• People with sight loss or additional support needs

• Charities, community groups and organisations

• Anyone who would like to explore their creativity

Blind Create is proud to work alongside organisations such as PAMIS (Promoting A More Inclusive Society), delivering regular online creative wellbeing sessions.

Please explore the website to discover courses, current projects, the Artists' Gallery, Blind Artists in History, articles, blogs, testimonials and partner organisations.

Creativity is for everyone.

Meet David

A warm welcome to Blind Create.

I'm David, Founder and Director of Blind Create.

Blind Create was created to make art accessible, enjoyable and meaningful for everyone, regardless of their level of sight, previous experience or additional support needs.

Drawing on my experience in education, I have developed a person-centred approach that adapts each session to the individual, creating opportunities for creativity, confidence and wellbeing.

My aim is not simply to teach art, but to help people discover their own creative voice and tell their own story through art.

Accessibility

Accessibility is at the heart of Blind Create.

Every session is tailored to each person's individual requirements and capabilities.

Participants are encouraged to use their own accessibility tools and software where appropriate, including:

• Screen readers

• Magnifiers

• Colour overlays

• Task lighting and visual aids

• Personal support from carers or staff where required

Blind Create continues to develop and evolve, with accessibility being reviewed and improved on an ongoing basis.

What makes Blind Create different?

Blind Create enables people to create their own vision through art.

The focus is not on artistic perfection, but on participation, confidence, enjoyment and creating meaningful experiences through creativity.

Partnerships and collaborations

Blind Create is proud to work alongside established organisations such as PAMIS (Promoting A More Inclusive Society).

Weekly online creative wellbeing sessions are delivered as part of the PAMIS programme, supporting people with profound and multiple learning disabilities in exploring their creativity in an accessible and supportive environment.

These ongoing sessions demonstrate Blind Create's commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for participation, self-expression and creative development.

Blind Create continues to seek opportunities to work with charities, care homes, community groups and wellbeing organisations.

Recognition and support

Blind Create was supported in its early development through an UnLtd award, helping establish the foundations of the project and enabling it to grow into the inclusive creative wellbeing service it is today.
