Helen started this glowing Autumn scene by using a leaf stencil and using paint sticks colouring inside the stencil with her support. The leaves are all randomly placed.
The next steps will be to add collage for the leaves and a robin.

Helen (featured here) worked on her fantastic mobile with support for 6 weeks through July and August 2025 and is pictured here holding her finished piece in Walpole Hall, St.Mary’s Cathedral (Episcopal) Palmerston Place, Edinburgh. The event organised by PAMIS was on Saturday 9 August from 11.30 -3pm.

Step 1:
Helen painted the background with assistance using yellow and green acrylic with sponge.
Then she added the branches with orange and white acrylic with brushes.
then using stipple brush she used pink to dab on the blossom.

Helen tells her own story in a set of illustrations and on her book cover.
1st illustration: One of Helen’s favourite things to do is to go out for food with friends & family.
2nd illustration: Helen loves a cup of tea & enjoys a wee treat such as a cupcake or mini roll to have with her tea.
3rd illustration: Helen really enjoys going shopping for new clothes & enjoys picking her outfit each day & wearing her warm Boots & favourite jumpers.

This project covered July and August for the Edinburgh International Book Festival and was shown at the event which Pamis hosted alongside the author of the Book.
We are adding to this gallery with the other features such as sand, shells, and a range of other materials to make this a sensory project..
