Blast Off!
‘Mission to the Moon – a sensory space story is published!
I’ve just published my first children’s picturebook that I’ve written and illustrated. It’s on Amazon KDP as ebook and paperback.
I’ve been a bit silent as a blogger in the past year, but have been quietly very busy! The dream that that I could achieve publishing a book not only with all my illustrations, but also writing it in rhyme has finally taken off.
This book has specially designed pages at the back of the book by the charity PAMIS.co.uk (Promoting A More Inclusive Society). PAMIS works solely with people with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities).
What’s the story about?
Dream Boldy and anything is possible….
Stella dreams of floating among the stars, never imagining the astronaut in her picture would answer back, promising to journey to the Moon and bring back her imagination. Suddenly Stella, her brother Jake, and Aunt Ava find themselves aboard a rocket, launching into an extraordinary lunar adventure.
Experience zero gravity breakfasts, thrilling moon walks, and a cosmic treasure hunt that’s sparks wonder, laughter and imagination. Inspired by my own space adventures and designed with PAMIS, this inclusive multi-sensory book ensures everyone – especially readers with learning disabilities – can fully join the mission.
Are you ready to dream big and launch your own mission? Mission to the Moon is an adventure for anyone who dares to dream.
And at the back of the book there’s also a Mission patch that anyone can design for themselves as an artwork, and there’s also a 2D kinetic art fun pack that’s also on my website where you can find stencils to print off to make your own Mission with all the characters of the book. The project enables you to change where characters go so you make up you own compositions, using velcro, and using collage it’s a lot of fun.
The book has been produced by Mary Turner Thomson (International best selling author) of the Book Whisperers CIC, and is being promoted through social media.
