Carnival Headdress:

Many different headdresses are used for the Rio Carnival in Brazil and Nottinghill Carnival in London, UK. This is an example by David.

The Rio Carnival is from 13-21 Feb and is the ‘world’s biggest party’ that celebrates the pre-lenten festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

I was fortunate when I was only 4 years old to see the Rio Carnival in 1972 when my family lived in Rio de Janeiro in 1972. It was a spectacle, featuring many samba bands and dancers.

London also holds a carnival known as the Nottinghill Carnival. When I lived in London in 1999, I was part of the London School of Samba and was part of an extensive group of samba players who took part of the Nottinghill Carnival. It was spectacular, loud and colourful, a spectacle with headresses flamboyant and amazing.
